Due to the unfavourable weather conditions the Sponsors Trophy due to be played on the 3rd October was cancelled and will now be played at the start of the 2026 season.

In the final of the O”Neill Cup played at Calderfield, Gardeners defeated West Derby Recs 257 to 181
SPONSORS TROPHY
The final of the Sponsors Trophy between Brenesc (-6) and Alder B (90) will be played on Friday 3rd October 2025 at the Richmond. 1.p.m. start.
LEAGUE PAIRS.
The preliminary rounds of the League Pairs will take place on Monday 29th September 2025 at West Derby Recs and Alder with the final the following day at the Gardeners. Closing date for entry is the 20th September 2025.
BCGBA REGISTRATION
From the 1st September 2025 the Registration Fee for new members has been increased to £20. A Registration Form is attached.

The final of the Kennett Trophy will be held at Walton Hall Avenue green between Roby and Court Hey on Tuesday 16th September 2025 starting at 1p.m.

The final of the O”Neill Cup between Gardeners and West Derby Recs will be played at Calderfield on Friday 26th September 2025 starting at 1p.m.
WALTON HALL – GREEN
From the 19th August 2025 and for their last two Tuesday League games Walton Hall will revert to the green at Walton Hall Avenue Park, L4 9XP
OBITUARY
I have been aware of the passing of George Parr who for many years played for APH. He recently resided in a local care home. Funeral arrangements are not yet available.
NEW BCGBA CH. EXECUTIVE
OVER 70’S
The Over 70’s heats on the 4th August 2025 will be held on the greens at West Derby Recs and Calderfield. The final will be at Brenesc on the 8th August 2025. Closing date Friday 25th July 2025.
LEAGUE MERIT
In the final of the League Merit played at Alder Paul Skyner of ASM defeated his club mate Tommy Lunt 15 – 10. The losing semi finalist were B. Howes of Richmond 2 and M. Cheshire of Walton Hall.

The final of the League Merit will take place at 1p.m. on Friday 11th July 2025 at Alder. The following have qualified M. Keatley, P. Skyner T. Lunt from ASM. D. Graston – Garston, M. Cheshire – Walton Hall, T. Paton – West Derby recs, W. Shields – Calderfield, B. Howes – Richmond 2
LEAGUE HANDICAP
In the final of the League Handicap held at West Derby Recs Martin Keatley ASM defeated Ray Solomon of the home Club 21 – 16. The losing semi finalists were M. Spiers of West Derby Recs and A Farrell Brenesc.
LEAGUE HANDICAP
The following have qualified for the last 8 of the League Handicap to be played at West Derby Recs on Friday 13th June 2025 starting at 1p.m. R. Koo, M. Keatley, T. Tsang and T. Lunt from ASM, M. Shiels and R. Soloman from West Derby recs, Bridget West from Calderfield and A. Farrell from Brenesc.
OUTSTANDING GAMES
Due to the recent inclement weather and the condition of some greens only one game was played on the 27th May the result of which was Richmond 2 5 Brenesc 10. In the second division one team contacted their opponents during Tuesday morning stating that they could not raise a team and would not be turning up. Their opponents will be awarded the full match points. Revised League Tables will be produced next week.
Because of the number of cancelations it is proposed that all the games from the 27th May will be played on Friday 27th June 2025. It is appreciated that some teams have already re-arranged their games and these arrangements will be accepted providing they are before the 27th June. No re-arranged games will be allowed after this date .It is appreciated that the League rules state that outstanding game must be played by 21 days but looking at the fixture list that is a little difficult to comply generally. We have only got to have a few repeats of the 27th May and the League are in trouble trying to find suitable alternative dates.
COACHING COURSE
Two members of Court Hey BC are interested in joining a Coaching Course but a total of 6 applicants are required before a local course can be arranged. Anyone interested in joining such a course should contact Jim Platt the Secretary of Court Hey Pensioners BC who can then take the matter further. His e mail address is jimep23@tiscali.co.uk

The First Division will open up on the 8th April 2025 with the following fixtures :-

Richmond v Grant. Larkhill A v ASM. West D. Recs v Edinburgh Park.
The Second Divisions first Fixtures are on the 15th April 2025 as follows.
Olympic v Roby. Northway CTK v Springwood. Court Hey v Calderfield.
Halewood v Arriva. Walton Hall v Larkhill B
SPRING MEETING
The Spring Meeting will be held at 2pm. on Tuesday 1st April 2025 Fixture books and scorecards will be available for collection at this meeting.
