In the final of the 2025 Sponsors Trophy played today at the Richmond Brenesc (Scr) defeated Alder B (90) 235 to 231.
KENNETT TROPHY
In the final of the 2025 Kennett Trophy played today at Walton Hall Court Hey defeated Roby 222 – 220.
OBITUARY

LEAGUE FIXTURE BOOK
With reference to the League Fixture Book there are a couple of mistakes/omissions which are outlined here. On page 11 the semi-final of the Kennett Trophy will be played on the 11th August and not the 4th. On page 16 The first round of the Kennett Trophy will be played on Friday 1st May. This is missing on this page.
Obituary
I have been informed of the passing of Fred Barton a long serving member of West Derby Recs. His funeral will take place at 2.30pm Holy Name Church, Mosspits Lane, Fazackerly followed by cremation at Anfield Crem (4pm). RIP Fred.

Obituary
The funeral of Jimmy Leadbetter will take place at 1.30pm on Wednesday 18th March at St. Helens Crematorium Following the service the family welcome everyone to join them at the Clock Face Public House in Prescot.

The Spring Meeting will take place at 1.30pm on Monday 30th March 2026 at the Richmond.

Due to the unfavourable weather conditions the Sponsors Trophy due to be played on the 3rd October was cancelled and will now be played at the start of the 2026 season.

In the final of the O”Neill Cup played at Calderfield, Gardeners defeated West Derby Recs 257 to 181

The final of the Sponsors Trophy between Brenesc (-6) and Alder B (90) will be played on Friday 3rd October 2025 at the Richmond. 1.p.m. start.
LEAGUE PAIRS.
The preliminary rounds of the League Pairs will take place on Monday 29th September 2025 at West Derby Recs and Alder with the final the following day at the Gardeners. Closing date for entry is the 20th September 2025.
BCGBA REGISTRATION
From the 1st September 2025 the Registration Fee for new members has been increased to £20. A Registration Form is attached.

WALTON HALL – GREEN
From the 19th August 2025 and for their last two Tuesday League games Walton Hall will revert to the green at Walton Hall Avenue Park, L4 9XP
OBITUARY
I have been aware of the passing of George Parr who for many years played for APH. He recently resided in a local care home. Funeral arrangements are not yet available.

OVER 70’S
The Over 70’s heats on the 4th August 2025 will be held on the greens at West Derby Recs and Calderfield. The final will be at Brenesc on the 8th August 2025. Closing date Friday 25th July 2025.
LEAGUE MERIT
In the final of the League Merit played at Alder Paul Skyner of ASM defeated his club mate Tommy Lunt 15 – 10. The losing semi finalist were B. Howes of Richmond 2 and M. Cheshire of Walton Hall.

In the final of the League Handicap held at West Derby Recs Martin Keatley ASM defeated Ray Solomon of the home Club 21 – 16. The losing semi finalists were M. Spiers of West Derby Recs and A Farrell Brenesc.
